Capturing the chaos!

What's my approach?

Mini sessions are short and simple! We will focus on the connection between you and your people; walking through the forest, spinning in circles, tickle fights, big hugs and lots of laughs. These sessions are perfect for families with toddlers as they are long enough to warm up to me, but short enough to not need snacks or get too restless. I will give you a few gentle prompts of what to do or give you the space to explore and play together in the beautiful setting. You know your kids best, take this time to play together, make each other giggle and show how much you love each other! No need to stress about your kids staying still or looking and smiling, the real magic is in the movement and the moments together.

What to wear!

Family sharing intimate moments of laughter and connection in a forest setting.

A fluffy white dog and young child stand together on a mossy log in a sunlit forest.

Be comfortable

What you wear to your photos should feel like you, if you feel like yourself you'll be more natural in your photos! You'll want to be comfortable enough to move around, pick up your kids, crouch down to their level. For shoes something you're comfortable walking in grass or along forest trails is good. Leather boots, shoes or sandals depending on the season, or simple sneakers are perfect.

Simple colours and patterns

Neutral colours photograph best, think beiges, greys, blues, olive greens, burgundy, light pinks, browns etc. Try to avoid pieces with characters or big logos that could take the attention away from you. Choosing a colour palette can help tie things together without all wearing the same thing can help things go together without feeling too matchy. Patterns can be a fun way to add some interest (plaids and florals are always a favourite). If one person is wearing a big pattern more simple styles for others is great. Try on your outfits together if you can to see how they all look!

Other things to bring

Layers or accessories to your outfit can add something fun for some of your photos! You could bring a jacket or sweater you want to take off part way, everyone's favourite sunglasses, or a hat if that fits your style. As well as personal touches like your kid's favourite stuffy, ultrasound pictures if you're pregnant, or a picnic blanket to sit on.
