hello!
We're Sarah and Olivia! Weddings are a beautiful celebration between you and your loved ones, we want you to look back at your photos and remember what the day felt like. Our goal will always be to make you feel as comfortable as possible, while spending your day exactly how you want. The beautiful landscapes of BC have always been a big inspiration to our work, our favourite places to shoot are outside in the forest, by the ocean or near the mountains. (but we of course love a few disco balls and fun lights on the dance floor!) The colours of your day will shine in our work and we love to keep things natural and true to tone.
After shooting over 100 weddings together since 2019 we can anticipate each other's moves, communicate with a couple glances across the ceremony and blend seamlessly into the background of your day to capture those candid moments. Having two photographers is so beneficial because we can be in two places at once, capturing even more of your guests, and moments you will get to relive through the photos, as well as constantly getting two perspectives of your day.
fun facts
We love kids and have both had many jobs working with children (between us: camp counsellor, dance teacher, adaptive ski instructor, daycare teacher, elementary school teacher and nanny).
We first met at dance class in high school and in the last few years have gotten to photograph so many other girls we used to dance with for their engagement shoots, weddings, maternity and families. It’s so special
We’ve been friends for more than 14 years and now business partners for 9.
We shot our first wedding in 2019 and have shot over 100 since!
We named our business after our nicknames (Olive and Bean). Funnily enough, Olivia doesn't like beans, and Sarah doesn't like olives...

Sarah

Hi, I'm Sarah! My family has called me Bean for as long as I can remember, and with a name as popular as Sarah you need a good nickname! I grew up and still live on the North Shore, and spend lots of my time in my hammock in the forest or having picnics at the beach. I ride my electric bike almost everywhere, even when it's raining, it's the best! I like to go camping at least once a summer, and spend some time at my family's little cabin on the Sunshine Coast.
I got the travel bug early (my parents took 3 kids under 7 to Thailand and Malaysia for 2 months without cell phones or google maps!) And have spent a year in New Zealand between a study abroad and a working holiday. Some of my other favourite countries I've visited are Scotland, Iceland and Norway.
I love to sew, crochet and knit. I think it's the coolest thing to be able to make things I can wear, use, or gift to my friends. There is never too much craft supplies, and always multiple works in progress in a basket haha.
Olivia
The Olive half here. My name is actually Olivia, but if you yell "Olive" by accident, I will definitely still respond. A North Shore girl, born and raised, and although travelling the world is one of my favourite things to do, Vancouver will always be home. When I’m not working in childcare, or taking photos with my partner in crime, you can usually find me baking a new recipe (perfecting the chocolate chip cookie, or trying to bake a new loaf of bread), or watching The Office for the 9th time through (not even kidding... the obsession is real).
I have been skiing since I was 5 years old. I love spending as much time in Whistler as possible during the winter. I think that snow is so magical. I love trying out new hobbies! Sewing, needlepoint, and watercolour painting have been a few of my most recent ventures. Big coffee gal. It's dangerous living in close proximity to so many amazing coffee shops!
giving back to our community
To give back to our community the this year we are donating our time photographing families staying at Ronald McDonald House BC. RMH provides accommodation for families with children who require the specialized care of BC Children's Hospital, but live across BC and the Yukon. Being able to give some of these families the gift of photos together is such an honour.
In 2024 and 2025, Sarah also donated her time to photograph Werk It at the Wallace, a North Vancouver drag performance and fundraiser in support of North Shore Pride Alliance, QMUNITY & Rainbow Refugee. We can't wait to photograph the event again in 2026!
We also donate gift certificates to a variety of charity silent auctions. In 2024 and 2025 we donated gift certificates to Ronald McDonald House, Make-a-Wish Canada, and Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports' silent auctions. In 2026 we will be donating to Ronald McDonald House, YWCA Women of Distinction Awards, and Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports. If your charity is looking for silent auction items feel free to reach out by email.
