North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Vancouver

After six years of shooting weddings here are some of our favourite BC wedding venues in Vancouver, North and West Vancouver! City venues make things simple especially if you have lots of guests coming from out of town it can be helpful to have a variety of of accomodation options near transit, restaurants and things to do.
Choosing a venue that you love is so important because it will set the scene and the backdrop for all your photos! Some venues have great areas where you can get ready, do your portraits and wedding party photos, ceremony and reception all in one place. While others you may need to consider what else is near by if you'll want to get ready at home, book an airbnb, or go to another location for photos.

The Wallace Venue | North Vancouver
This venue has a beautiful indoor space, with white walls, and an industrial vibe it's the perfect blank space to fill with your own decor. The outdoor patio is often used for the ceremony with views of downtown Vancouver. In the spring, fall and winter it can be helpful to have a big tent on the patio, a tent with a clear top is always our recommendation to have the best light inside your tent.
All Lower Lonsdale wedding venues (The Wallace, The Pipeshop, and The Polygon Gallery) have the luxury of being able to do your portraits and wedding party photos in the Shipyards! Keep in mind in the peak of summer it can be busy all the time, but you can still get beautiful photos with a little creativity! There are also lots of hotels nearby for getting ready, and your guests to stay.
Cleveland Dam Park | North Vancouver
Cleveland Dam is a beautiful spot for a small ceremony or an elopement. The forest and mountain views are very North Van! For this location we recommend avoiding busy summer weekends as it is very popular with local hikers and people having picnics.
The Landing at The Beach House Restaurant | West Vancouver
A great spot if you want to get married on the beach but still have a venue for your reception just walking distance away! Opt for a clear top tent for outdoor dancing, or rainy reception days.
West Vancouver Yacht Club | West Vancouver
The ceremony spot at the West Van Yacht Club is on a patio just outside the reception space, with views over the docks. The same patio can be used for your cocktail hour and then dinner and dancing are right inside! West Van also has lots of parks or beaches where you can do portraits near by. Some have recently implemented permits for wedding photos so this is worth looking into to chec which parks are available!
City Hall | Vancouver
A City Hall elopement is the perfect spot to keep things simple and get the legal side of your marriage done! It is especially lovely during cherry blossom season for some portraits outside. You could pair this with a nice dinner with close friends and family or a larger reception at another venue. Book your wedding at City Hall here.
Hycroft Manor | Vancouver
Vancouver heritage building with stunning solariums, covered patio and lots of charm. Perfect for smaller weddings for couples looking for something unique. We absolutely loved the green room solarium for photos!
Shaughnessy Restaurant and Van Dusen | Vancouver
Surrounded by greenery of the Van Dunes Gardens this venue has incredible light while also being fully covered for rainy day celebrations. Wedding party or couples photos in the gardens are a great addition without having to change locations! Van Dusen Gardens also offers their own wedding packages with ceremony sites in the park and a reception space in the main building.
Brix and Mortar | Vancouver
Brix and Mortor has been a popular spot over the last few years! Their gorgeous courtyard is fully covered for rainy day ceremonies while still having lots of greenery. The reception space is in their restaurant and has always had incredible food!
The Permanent Venue | Vancouver
The Permanent Venue is such a cool space! Ceremony and reception happen in the same space with cocktail hour typically in the loft upstairs. So many gorgeous details in this old bank, while still ahve plenty of room for personalization.
The Vancouver Library has also been a favourite spot recently for wedding party and couples portraits for downtown venues! It tends to be quiet for some privacy for first looks, and has lots of space for large wedding parties!
Pacific Spirit Regional Park | Vancouver
With three main ceremony sites for forest weddings through Metro Vancouver Parks. Perfect for elopements or weddings with small guest lists. During Covid restrictions this site was perfect for 25 people! Read more about site reservations here.
UBC Botanic Garden | Vancouver
A new favourite venue for us in 2023! The vines trellis where you can have your ceremony and dinner was so beautiful. The perfect venue if you're looking for a garden party vibe. There is also a large field for cocktail hour, larger ceremonies or a tent if needed. You also have access to the full botanic garden for portraits and wedding party photos before or after your ceremony.
Vancouver Rowing Club | Vancouver
The Rowing Club is set in Stanley Park and has a large deck for ceremonies, and an attached room for reception. Lots of options for photos throughout the park, and there is beautiful golden light on the deck during the summer for some quick sunset portraits.
Stanley Park Brewing | Vancouver
Stanley Park Brewing was such a fun spot for a wedding! The park of course has plenty of beautiful spots for photos in any season with options for forest, gardens, beach and city views. These two opted for a more casual reception with no assigned seating and lots of food throughout the night!
Stanley Park has plenty of beautiful spots for wedding portraits whether you're getting married at once of the Stanley Park venues or somewhere else downtown and want some photos in nature of you and your wedding party!
Other Ideas for Venues in Vancouver, North and West Vancouver
Parks! As listed about some parks offer booking for wedding ceremonies. These may often work best for smaller groups for ceremony only. Be aware that you may have to share your space with the general public to some extent.
Breweries! Lots of Vancouver and North Shore Breweries and Distilleries allow for event bookings. This could be a more affordable option for some if you want to have a party with a large group of people. We've seen lots of couples do a small ceremony for close friends adn family, and then throw an evening party at a brewery to have a party! Opt for a later evening, and just serve apetizers and local beers. Some of these venues operate on a minimum spend with a usually lower event rental fee.
