Guide | Top Photo Session Locations in Greater Vancouver

olive & bean

We have spent many hours scouting out perfect spots in some of our favourite parks and beaches across the lower mainland for our clients. When you book a shoot with us we will ask if you have a specific location that is meaningful to you. Maybe the forest you hike in all the time with your family, or the beach you went to on your first date! If you don't have a specific place in mind we will ask what kind of a vibe you're looking for: beach, forest, mountain views, urban streets and then make recommendations based on that! Here are a few of our favourite photo shoot locations in Greater Vancouver to give you some inspiration.

North Shore Forests

Beautiful greens, tall trees and forest floor. Perfect if you love spending time in the woods with your people, and a great option if you want to bring your dog!

Golden Ears Provincial Park

Mossy green trees and forest floor with the option to walk to one of the beaches along the lovely lake. A great spot if you want a bit of the best of both worlds with forest and water! Also one of our fav spots to go for sunrise, always worth the early rise and bit of a drive.

* With COVID-19 this park currently requires (free) day pass.

Buntzen Lake

Another beautiful lake with the mountains in the background. Sandy beach has lots of space for kids to run around and some foresty roads to skip down. The place can also be super moody in the fog!

UBC Beaches

Perfect spot to sit on a log or the rocks and have a beer as the sun goes down! Views of the North Shore mountains and the classic Vancouver freighters.

Pitt Meadows

Blue mountains and tall green grass! This is a popular spot for lower mainland photographers so don't be surprised if we run into 5-10 other groups having their photo taken along the dike.

West Van Beaches

The rocky beaches and cliffs in West Van are especially beautiful for sunrise! Some involve a bit more of a walk than others. We love the contrast between the rocks and the views across the harbour to Kits and UBC.

Minnekhada Regional Park

Big sword ferns, forest roads and big trees! In the summer this park is popular for hikers and black bears!

Blackie Spit and Crescent Beach, Surrey

Blackie Spit has lots of options including this gorgeous grassy field and a small wooded area. There is also access to Crescent Beach with lots of open space to roam!

Mud Bay, Surrey

Another great option if you're looking for grassy areas and ocean views! Mud Bay can be windy so be prepared for your hair to get a little windswept.

Downtown Vancouver

If you're looking for a more urban feel we know of a few different hidden gems in downtown Vancouver. Ask us about your options from Gastown, to Granville Island to Mount Pleasant!

We are always excited to find new locations! If there is somewhere special to you let us know and we will go on a new adventure and check it out!
