Pitt Meadows Backyard Wedding

Pitt Meadows, BC

As everyone knows summer 2020 was not the simplest season to get married, but these two rose to the occasion and made it happen. We had the most incredible day with them and their loved ones celebrating their new chapter. They had a few special places they wanted documented throughout the day so we got a little bit of everything in terms of gorgeous landscapes!

After everyone was ready we headed to Minnekhada Regional Park, one of their favourites for walking and the original location of their wedding for a beautiful first look and their personal vows. This is such a sweet option if you want to write personalized vows but don't want the stress of reading them to each other with an audience! After seeing each other (and everyone tearing up a little) we backed off so they could read their vows to each other in private in the middle of the woods. Then we found the most amazing rusty school chair and had to take a few photos of the rings, stunning bouquet and the brides shoes (while she stood in her socks haha). Scroll through to see the result!

Hoping back in the car down a bumpy gravel road we headed to meet the rest of the wedding party for some group shots at Pitt Lake, where some of their family were setting up their floral arch! If you've ever walked along Pitt Lake in the summer you know it is a hot spot for photographers - and what do you know we saw 5+ other wedding groups there that day! Everyone is super respectful and you can't tell anyone else was ever there in the photos ;) Nothing really compares to the huge mountains, reflecting lake and long grass of this spot and is 100% worth the drive.

Lastly we finished off the day with a beautiful backyard ceremony and dinner with their closet friends and family. Some highlight moments for us included the couple running down the isle as their guests threw flower petals over them, the groom getting to hug his grandma for the first time since COVID (cue the water works), and an epic sparkler exit.

We can't wait to see the creative and beautiful ways our 2021 couples push to still have incredible weddings, and be able to document those for those who are unable to attend in person.
